Our Pastor, Bro. Shawn Berry began attending Calvary at age 3 when his parents moved to Richmond, Kentucky. At age 9 the Lord saved him. He followed the Lord in baptism and was received as a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He eventually married his lovely wife Danada and moved from Richmond.
In 1998 Bro. Shawn felt the Lord calling him into the ministry as he was speaking to a group of inmates at a prison Chapel service. He publicly surrendered to the gospel ministry that year and continued to preach to inmates in a monthly Chapel service until 2001 when he was ordained and moved to Western Kentucky to pastor a church. He continued pastoring in Kentucky and Tennessee for the next 16 years. During this time he also graduated from Landmark Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Theology and PhD.
In January 2017 he moved back to Kentucky and eventually became the Chaplain over the same prison that the Lord called him to preach in.
In December of 2019 he accepted the call to pastor the Calvary Baptist Church when her former pastor, Bro. Bobby Greene retired after 32 years of faithful service.
